Canine Cough Conundrum: Getting a Handle on CIRDC

Sponsored by Elanco

Canine infectious respiratory disease complex (CIRDC)—commonly referred to as kennel cough—continues to present diagnostic and preventive challenges in clinics of all sizes. In this informative and timely one-hour webinar, Dr. Chris George (Practice Limited to Internal Medicine) will walk attendees through real-world case studies, offering practical guidance for identifying, managing, and preventing CIRDC in a variety of clinical settings.

From understanding host and social risk factors to reviewing current diagnostic limitations and treatment options, attendees will come away with a clearer picture of how to handle this all-too-common but often misunderstood disease. The session will also include an overview of updated vaccination recommendations, as well as strategies to reduce confusion and improve protection using core and non-core vaccine guidance.

What You’ll Learn:
• The most common pathogens involved in CIRDC and how to recognize typical clinical symptoms
• Diagnostic limitations and best practices for antimicrobial use and supportive care
• Key social and host risk factors contributing to CIRDC outbreaks
• How to standardize vaccine guidance across your team (and why non-core vaccine discrepancies matter)
• Ways to improve communication with clients about respiratory disease risks and prevention

This webinar has been approved for 1 hour of RACE-CE and is sponsored by Elanco.
