Procedural Sedation: The Benefits of Pharmaceuticals for a Fear Free Visit

Let’s face it, veterinary visits can be scary for pets. When we don’t consider a patient’s emotional health, their fear, anxiety, and stress can increase with every visit. Eventually, pet parents may hesitate to schedule necessary appointments, and the pet’s healthcare may suffer. A pet’s emotional health is important, and can have real and far-reaching effects on their physical health. Fortunately, there are a number of methods we can use to make vet visits less stressful, from counterconditioning with positive reinforcement to premedication and sedation.

During this webinar, we will learn:
  • Why Fear Free veterinary visits are critical to providing lifelong healthcare for dogs
  • Premedication protocols that can reduce your patients’ FAS
  • How to recognize when to stop a procedure
  • Sedation protocols that can facilitate a Fear Free visit
